Hi,
My question is regarding the entitlement validity start date if I start my contribution now (April 2025). I can work until the end of December which makes me achieve the threshold of the annual gross 273.504 DKK income in 9 months. However, from January I would like to a ‘gap year’ – travelling until the end of March, so no income expected in these months. After 12 months contribution and by achieving the minimum requirement of the income earlier (December 2025), can I be entitled for employment benefits from April 2026?

to meet the income-requirement you need to have earned DKK 273,504 kr. within the last 3 years.
However its only possible to count a maximum amount/salary of DKK 22,792 per month.
This also means that you always need at least 12 months with income to be able to meet the income-requirement.
12 x 22,792 = 273,504.
The only way to avoid the need of 12 months with income, is if you can combine finished higher education with income from work. 1 month of education is equivalent to DKK 22,792 when determing if the income-requirement is met.
