“If you have previously used a certificate PD U2, you must have work before you can get a new certificate. Are you full-time insured, you must work at least 296 hours within 12 weeks / 3 months. The work may well be done abroad if you have been insured against unemployed in the other EEA country during the working period.”

I have read the following on your webpage and have called my A-kasse (Akademiskerne A-kasse) to ask about this and received an answer that I would need to work for one year to be eligible for a new period of EEA unemployment benefits. Could you explain the discrepancy of this conflicting explanations?

    Hi,

The organisation for A-kasser in Denmark tells the same as we do about a new period with EEA Unemployment benefits (PD U2). Please see this PD U2 handbook (section 3.1.5) from their website danskeakasser.dk:

    https://danskeakasser.dk/files/media/document/Endelig_PDU2_haandbog_jan23.pdf

So based on the information we have about your case, I will say that you can have a new period with PD U2 after you have worked 296 hours within 12 weeks / 3 months.

    Hope it helps you.

    Best regards,
    Anders Weber, A-kasser.dk
