    Hello,

so I am about to graduate on July 2024. I started working on November 2023. By the end of graduating, I will have completed the 600 hours-rule in order to be able to take the A-Kasse. I have a question regarding one rule that states :

“An person who do not meet the language requirement, is still entitled to unemployment benefits if the person instead meet a affiliation requirement. The affiliation requirement says that during 12 months within a 24 month period prior to the unemployment there must have been reported at least 600 wage hours to the income-register (SKAT)”.

Is it mandatory to have worked for 12 months in order to be entitled to earn the A-kasse.

Because in my case I will have worked for 8 months but I would be able to cover the 600 hour rule.

    Hi,

The work does not need to have been carried out for 12 consecutive months, but wage hours must be reported in each of the 12 months.

In contrast to what otherwise applies when earning right to unemployment benefits, you do not need – in order to meet the affiliation requirement – to have been a member of an A-kasse during the 12 months in which you have worked hours.

The 8 months with income reported to SKAT will not be enough.

    Best regards,
    Anders Weber, A-kasser.dk
