    Hi,

I am a recent graduate and I have recently begun to receive supplementary dagpenge as I have continued with my part-time student job. However, it now looks like the part-time job will be coming to an end as it was related to a project that has now ended which will mean that I will become wholly unemployed. If this happens then I intend to start looking for work in the UK as I believe that I am covered under the Brexit severance agreement and am therefore entitled to a maximum of 3-months of dagpenge while I look for work in the UK.

    Question:

Do you know of any reason why it wouldn’t be possible for me to move from a partially unemployed person to a wholly unemployed person? For instance, would I need to be able to meet any earning requirements from the part-time job before I could start receiving dagpenge as a wholly unemployed person? (I only graduated in August so this probably wouldn’t be possible for me).

    Hi,

to be able to start receiving dagpenge as a wholly unemployed person you need to have your memberhsip changed from part-time to full-time membership.
However this requires that you meet a work-hours requirement. You must have had more than 390 working hours within three months (or more than 360 working hours within 12 weeks if you are paid weekly) before you can ask the A-kasse to change your membership from part-time to full-time.

As unemployed it’s not possible to change from part-time to full-time insured.

    Best regards,
    Anders Weber, A-kasser.dk
